Le Donjon.
The Dungeon: This ‘architectural folly’ was erected around 1860 on the hilltops. The dungeon dominates to the north the small valley, to the south the grand valley and to the west the sea and the cliffs that have a world wide reputation. Its situation at Etretat is exceptional and unique.
In all likelihood a dungeon was erected here under Philippe-Auguste for the defence of the populations in the valley.

The Villa was built around 1890 in the heart of a privileged environment and in the truest seaside resort style. Etretat was then a fashionable resort. Inhabited successively by several owners, the Villa was inhabited by Lucien Moretti; an artist painter of renown, the paintings are today in the private collections of Liz Taylor, Maurice Gennevoix, Patachou or again of Charles Aznavour.
The story doesn’t stop there, this meeting place of light and nature was to conserve its character of bygone days.
